Last week saw the launch of a new side quest - "Beecause". The feedback has bee-n great! We are really buzzing about it. Alright, thats probably enough bee puns for now!
Work on Project Milestone continues, with improvements to personalized combat striping, more work on bounties, more professions updated, and lots of new graphics being integrated into the updated professions.
Milestones
As promised, here are some more details on the Milestones update. This week we will focus on Miner, Blacksmith, personalized combat striping, and bounties.
Miner:
We are adding a new metal called Duraben, which is unlocked by reaching miner milestone 1, and is used exclusively for crafting shields in Blacksmith.
Deathstone is now unlocked by reaching milestone 1, and is used exclusively for crafting shields in Stonemason.
Mine cart work is now unlocked by reaching milestone 2, and has been extended to have 8 different variants, one for each milestone. The 3 new materials you have to transport are Nickel, Gravel and... Horseshoes!
The intention behind these changes, is to make it so some activities are saved for later milestones, so leveling up is more rewarding.
Blacksmith:
Shield crafting is now unlocked by reaching milestone 1, because shields are now crafted using Duraben.
We are adding a new 'making horseshoes' passive activity to Blacksmith. Making horseshoes does not require any items nor does it fill your backpack, making it a nice easy passive to set up which Blacksmith was missing before.
We are adding a new 'recycling scrap metal' passive activity to Blacksmith. Recycling scrap metal uses the scrap metal you collect in Forager. This is another example of what we are doing to improve the links between professions.
Personalized combat striping:
We are significantly overhauling the personalized combat striping system.
The aim is to eliminate the oddity of personalized quest requirements, and to stop personalized striping from assigning foe levels in a way that is very hard to understand.
Instead we are making it so YOU choose what order the combat stripes come in. Each time you reach a new milestone you can choose which episode's foes you want that next milestone to feature. This is both simpler, and brings back the concept of you being able to choose which episode to train combat in next, whilst still maintaining a merged combat profession.
The base foes (i.e. the first stripe) in every episode always have a fixed combat level.
The Hopeport base foes are combat level 0-24.
The Hopeforest base foes are combat level 25-49.
The Mine of Mantuban base foes are combat level 50-74.
The Crenopolis base foes are combat level 75-99.
Boss foes also have a fixed combat level.
Crime Den foes have a fixed combat level (based on the detective level of the crime den, like it was before the combat merge).
In addition to the 'base foes' described above, when you unlock a new Combat milestone, you now choose which episode's foes you want that next milestone to feature. This is called a 'foe pack'. This allows you to specialize in an episode (for example you may wish to focus on a newly launched episode), or experience a variety of episodes as you choose.
Purchasing a premium pass will not change which foe packs you have selected (and will therefore not affect your personalized striping). The fixed 'base foe' and 'boss foe' levels, as described above, ensure you will be able to experience the premium content immediately without having to finish the current milestone first.
Launching a new episode will not change which foe packs you have selected (and will therefore not affect your personalized striping). The fixed 'base foe' and 'boss foe' levels, as described above, ensure you will be able to experience the new content immediately without having to finish the current milestone first.
Bounties:
We are adding common, uncommon, rare and epic rarities of bounties. Rarer bounties give better rewards, but appear less frequently on the bounty board.
Certain milestones in each profession will be "bountiful milestones". In a bountiful milestone, bounties are replaced as soon as they are completed, making bounties the main focus for leveling up during that milestone. The intention here is to make some milestones have a different feel to others, so it feels less repetitive.
For Chef, we are adding new 'common' rarity bounties (which involve cooking, but not delivering the food), and the existing delivery bounties will be used by uncommon, rare and epic rarity bounties.

Infographics
You will see that the Project Milestone infographic has had a major overhaul. We have reorganized it to better reflect the major features that are part of Project Milestone. We've also removed the slightly confusing update numbers, as the order in the infographic does not necessarily reflect the order in which we will release the updates.
The major features are:
Botanist
A new profession that replaced Gatherer.
Milestones
A better structure for leveling up, based around reaching a milestone every 50 levels, with a new XP curve to match.
Adjusts the level of repeated (i.e. reskinned) activities, such that there are no repeated activities within a milestone (and therefore there are no repeated activities within the first 50 levels of a profession).
Milestone unlocks, such as new activities, bounties, world events and dungeons, which deliver meaningful rewards for reaching a milestone.
New activities in many professions.
Bounties for all professions
Bonus objectives, which add variety when leveling up.
Rare bounties will sometimes appear, which give better rewards, but appear less frequently on the bounty board.
World events
Time-limited multiplayer events.
Dungeons for all professions
Solo and multiplayer excursions into unexplored regions of Adothria.
Remixes the profession in a whole new way, adding more options for leveling up.
Minigames
Unique activities that give you a new way to level up the profession.
