There is a new visitor at the ever-popular Rabbit Cafe - the vampire hunter Ivor Ashecroft. Ivor has returned to Hopeport because he believes we are in dire need of his skills. However, it seems his home has been filled with rabbits and all his equipment is missing. You should go and talk to Dorothy in the Rabbit Cafe to start the Halloween 2026 event and find out what is going on.
As an experiment, when fighting vampires, your ranged ammo will regenerate. This change does not extend to the rest of combat.
The lead developer for the Halloween 2026 event was Steve.
NEW GRAPHICS FEATURES
We have added two new graphics features to our engine. Both features are on by default, but can be disabled in the settings interface if they cause any issues for you. If you encounter an issue with the new graphics features, please let us know so we can try to resolve it.
The first addition is point lights. We have started updating the game content to use this feature, but we are still working on it, and more updates will be coming over the next few weeks. We just really wanted to get the lighting improvements in for the Halloween event. When you play it, you will see why.
The second addition is volumetric fog, which is currently only used during the Halloween event. We will be using it in more places in the future. If you have any suggestions for where volumetric fog might be really impactful, please let us know.
LAUNCH SCHEDULE CHANGES
You will notice we have pushed the launch schedule back by a couple of weeks. Hammerstrike Auctions just needs a little more time before it is ready. We will still be doing improvement-focused updates in the weeks which appear empty on the schedule. They will contain things such as improvements to lighting and Shipwreck, rather than new content.
BUG FIXES
In Shipwreck, you can no longer pull salvage through the ship's hull.
The Shipwreck tutorial text is now a more sensible size.
